Now
I study what happens when people with little money, limited family support, or restricted mobility need care or public services.
I started Laguna in Kaohsiung to accompany people to medical appointments and older adults on everyday outings. The work gives me time with people in the places my research is concerned with. I also build small tools that help prepare questions and keep a record of what happened during a visit.
I keep field notes from accompaniment and prepare plain-language handoff records for families and migrant care workers. Under doctoral supervision, I want to develop this practice into systematic qualitative, participatory, and spatial research.
The Path Here
Architecture
Coursework in architecture at Feng Chia University, 2000–2003; no degree conferred. This was my first training in reading how buildings and streets shape movement.
Film
A BA in Radio, Television and Film, then an Erasmus+ screenwriting master's across Scotland, Portugal and Estonia. Screenwriting taught me to reconstruct a person's decisions from their own point of view, not from the system's account of it.
Brand & marketing
Work across a digital agency, a pharmacy, and a health lifestyle platform, from integrated campaigns for Nike and Toyota to community programmes and service experience in Kaohsiung.
Care
I accompanied both my parents through cancer treatment and many short appointments. Their experiences in hospitals still shape the questions I bring to my research.
